1. Service Overview

Shanghai Linguist Information Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "we," "us," or the "Company") is a professional translation service provider registered at Room 206, Building 1, Lane 88 Shengrong Road, Shanghai. We provide the following professional translation services:

  • Document Translation Services: business documents, technical documents, academic papers, legal documents, medical documents, and more
  • Website Localization Services: multilingual website development, content translation, cultural adaptation, and SEO optimization
  • Software Localization Services: software interface translation, help documentation, user manuals, and error messages
  • Interpretation Services: simultaneous interpretation, consecutive interpretation, business escort, and conference interpretation
  • Multimedia Translation Services: video subtitles, audio dubbing, game localization, and animation translation
  • Certified Translation Services: officially certified translation, notarized translation, and immigration translation

1.1 Service Languages

We support translation services for the following language pairs:

  • Chinese ↔ English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish
  • English ↔ Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian
  • Other language pairs available upon client request

2. Acceptance of Service

By using our services, you (hereinafter the "Client") agree to comply with these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue use of our services.

2.1 Service Eligibility

  • The Client must be at least 18 years of age or possess full legal capacity
  • The Client must provide truthful and accurate contact information
  • The Client must hold lawful rights to use the documents submitted
  • The Client must not use the services for unlawful or improper purposes

2.2 Service Agreement

Each specific project will be governed by a detailed service agreement, including:

  • Project scope and work content
  • Delivery timelines and quality standards
  • Fee structure and payment methods
  • Intellectual property and confidentiality provisions
  • Revision and dispute resolution mechanisms

3. Service Process

3.1 Project Consultation

  • The Client submits translation requirements
  • We provide project evaluation and quotation
  • Both parties confirm project details and schedule

3.2 Project Execution

  • Execution of the service agreement
  • Payment of project fees
  • Commencement of translation work
  • Quality review and revisions

3.3 Project Delivery

  • Timely delivery of translation deliverables
  • Provision of follow-up revision services
  • Project completion confirmation

4. Client Responsibilities

The Client assumes the following responsibilities when using our services:

  • Provide accurate and complete project information
  • Submit materials in appropriate format and quality
  • Present clear and specific translation requirements
  • Provide necessary background information and reference materials
  • Cooperate actively during the course of the project
  • Fulfill payment obligations

5. Service Standards

5.1 Quality Standards

  • Accurate conveyance of the meaning and intent of the source text
  • Natural and fluent expression in the target language
  • Appropriate use of specialized terminology
  • Cultural adaptation and localization
  • Grammatical and spelling accuracy
  • Consistent translation style

5.2 Delivery Time Management

  • Strict adherence to delivery timelines agreed in the contract
  • Prompt response to urgent requests
  • Regular progress reporting
  • Advance notification and remedial measures in case of delay

6. Fees and Payment

6.1 Fee Calculation

  • Pricing based on character count, page count, or hours
  • Fee adjustment according to language pair complexity
  • Fee variation according to specialized field difficulty
  • Fee surcharge according to urgency

6.2 Payment Terms

  • Advance payment before project commencement
  • Payment methods: bank transfer, credit card, PayPal, and others
  • Strict adherence to payment deadlines
  • Interest and fees in case of late payment

6.3 Invoicing and Taxation

  • Issuance of detailed invoices
  • Tax processing and provision of receipts
  • Tax handling for international transactions

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Copyright Protection

  • Copyright in the source text belongs to the Client
  • Copyright in the translated text is defined in the contract
  • Translator attribution as applicable
  • Respect for third-party rights

7.2 Trademarks and Patents

  • Appropriate use of trademarks
  • Confidentiality of patent information
  • Prevention of intellectual property infringement

8. Confidentiality Agreement

8.1 Scope of Confidentiality

8.2 Duration of Confidentiality
